I got Verizon to match it and no losing $100 of promo. I also got the Spen and case free thru Verizon, and a $1,000 trade in on a cracked S8. I was surprised they gave me $100 credit to match the same price for 512, they usually don't do that.


Edit...I switched to Verizon to get the phone. I get to keep my fold 2 and note 20U, and S10+. So that off sets a lot from Samsung's deals for me anywy

That was my question! How did he get/use the code because I reserved etc like everybody else. No mention of the code in the email etc. Then I tried to do another order using the code to see if it would work and it didn't so I was asking "how?" I got the same discounts (including military) but nothing about "appexclusive" coupon code.

If you reserved before the actual announcement then the 200 dollar credit was tied to the email you reserved with. When you signed into your Samsung account it should've showed automatically. They also sent an email out talking about the 200 dollar credit.

Rakuten seems to only work with the Samsung website (that doesn't give the extra $100) and not the app. Just wondering! I believe you had to reserve the ZF3s before the actual pre-orders went live to get the extra $100 off. The Rakuten can work on the website, just need to install the Rakuten extension on the browser you are using to get the 12% cash back.

Thanks, I did do that and am getting the pre order discount. But it looks like if you use the Shop Samsung app, you get an addition $100 off on top of the $200 accessory credit plus a 25w charger. You won’t get those using the website it seems and Rakuten seems to work only with the Samsung website and not the app. Hmmm.

Edit: I just checked your link. Forget what I said, it seems to show up in the site with the link. Darn, my pre order link didn’t include the extra $100 but it did in the app. Sigh. Ugh thanks for clarifying it. Not sure why mine didn’t.

Another update on the above. I contacted Samsung about this via chat, and they couldn't modify the order but they created a new order for me reflecting the $100 discount and sent me a link to a new cart on their website. So I was able to submit the order under Rakuten and take advantage of the 12% plus the additional $100 discount. Added bonus, they threw in a 35w charger which is nice because I think the Shop app was giving a 25w charger. I don't even know if this phone can use a 35w charger. lol

The only issue is that the Try Now, Pay Later option was no longer available for this, and I bit the bullet and just paid it all out banking on that I will like it and keep around. I guess I still can return it if I don't like it, but I'm guessing even if I go back to the Note, I might just keep this around the home as a mini tablet then. lol

The problem I think is Samsung has so many varying discounts it seems and it's bound to be messed up for some folks - and maybe this time it was me. The phone with the $450 trade in of my old Note 9 (goodbye yellow spen! :'( ) makes the 512GB come out to $1249.99, when it was $1349.99 before. You folks with the additional discounts are so lucky. The fact that August is the month where I like to treat myself doesn't help when Samsung chooses this month to come out with their Notes and Folds. lol

You are correct! When I signed up in advance of the Samsung live event I was guaranteed an extra $100 off whatever credits I created from device tradeins plus the $200 instant credit though it had to be used during the ordering and no matter what I manipulated it still had to be used and any left over would be forfeit.
This was all on "Shop Samsung" app.
The website was a cluster on that day and was glitchy. Called Samsung CS and after 60m on the phone they realized their site was overwhelmed and offered me 10% credit to my Samsung account once my order was processed and delivered. (Total price paid).
I was actually a part of the GF2 $1000 buy back program though when activated I couldn't order the new device as their website glitched. In the end I received much more discounts and perks than expected as I could trade in more devices. (Buy back program won't allow that!) Choose wisely....
Whew!
Over all: pleased!
Now waiting for device and real world usage. ✌

Today, it didn't matter if I used the app or not. The 512GB was $100 less, although I lost $100 of Samsung Credit. Weird......
