Z3: throw to TV or ps4? Total noob

Hi. I'm a total noob to xperia and have signed up just to ask this. So I apologise for being a little clueless.

Is it possible to throw/view things to a ps4 using my xperia z3?

As in, can I view photos, video or apps etc on my TV from my phone?

I've read about the throw feature but am I right in thinking you need a specific type of TV for that? Or do I need specific apps or hardware?

The easiest way with a Z3 is Chromecast. Buy the Chromecast device (you can find them for $25 if you look, or if there's a sale), plug it into an HDMI input of any TV, and follow thew "To cast your screen" part of Chromecast mirroring. The TV will be a big monitor for your phone, showing whatever is on the phone screen.
