...well its official. With the latest update came the death of z4root. Anyone know how to root the DP post-update?

yes I noticed the same thing, but 'aRoot' still does the trick :) You'll have to be plugged in to a PC for it to work though.

Thats what I've read but Ive tried aRoot numerous times and it didn't work. I did everything it said to do but to no avail. What do you think I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: I've just tried RDSLite a whole bunch of times and that isn't working either. As of right now, I can't find any way to root the phone. Have you tested the aRoot on the droid and actually got it working, or are you just assuming? Try as i might, nothing seems to be working.

UPDATE: So I finally found what ails me. (is that how you spell "ails"?)

I used SuperOneClick. Its not as straight forward as z4root but its pretty much just as easy.

Cool, yes aRoot actually worked for me. I installed the newest Motorola USB drivers and ran it no problem.

I wasn't having luck with aRoot wither until I went into 'My Computer' and right-clicked on the phone's removable storage icon and selected "Eject". Then I ran it again and it worked perfectly.
