Zedge harmful?

It was pulled from the Play Store but I think it's back already. It was recently flagged by Play Protect.

This was from Zedge a couple of days ago.Screenshot_20191001-214126.jpeg

Yes, it's back on the Play Store. I can't check if Play Protect is still flagging it, I uninstalled Zedge a while ago.

Noticed it earlier and uninstalled, but seems like it's fine now. I reinstalled and didn't get an alert from Google upon reinstalling, so guess it was fixed.

I always felt like nothing is free so they were scraping data left and right. I prefer the web version so I control what they get.

Look out told me samsung's adapt sound setting was even harmful and that's a built-in feature not a standalone app.

maybe it's the root of my battery drain?
Maybe. Disabling antivirus or cleaner apps is one of my first advices when anyone is having battery drains or performance issues.

And about Zedge. I don't use to give a second chance to that kind of apps (QuickPick, ES, Cam Scanner, you name it). The first sight of shady practices and off they go.
