zenfone2 ze550ML- continuos vibration, slow charging and related issues
Hello,
Model : - Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML - ASUS_Z008D with Android v 5.0.
Software version :- WW_2.20.40.130_20151104
The phone was working fine till last week . The latest software upgrade was made 2 weeks back. Now the phone shows some erratic behaviour as listed below:
1. In switched ON condition, the phone sometimes just automatically vibrates continuously and drains the battery. The vibration can be stopped by continuously pressing the power button. The battery is getting drained due to this.
2. The battery charging is NOT possible through power plug. But it can be charged through usb connection with PC. But charging rate is very very slow (indicated time 7-8 hours to full charge). But in between the charging, phone will start to vibrate automatically and drains the battery.
3. When the phne is switched OFF, sometimes the camera flash light just flashes for a moment, which also drains the battery.
4. I thought to wipe the cache partition to remove any junk files of old upgardes. But the phone does not go to Recovery mode to do this. Once I select the recovery mode, it just goes blank and continuously vibrates.
5. When the Wifi is swipped ON/OFF, it may or may not respond.
6. There are NO heating issues during charging or during the erratic continuous vibration of phone.
7. Phone calls/ messaging can be done without any issue. But I am not currently using the phone because the phone can anytime go to the continuous vibration mode and related erratic behaviour, and hence battery drain/ unable to charge through power plug.
8. Phone was NEVER subjected to any physical damage like falling from height or contact with water, NOR was done anything related to software other than regular upgades for the latest software version and wipe cache paritions after updates (cannot be done for the last update, since the phone does not allow to go to recover mode as mentioned in pt 4)
The phone is sill in the warranty period. I was very much satisfied with the phone till these problems occurred. Kinldy advice what to do.
