WHY

My wife and i both have a dna. she has updated to the lastest kit kat. i have not because i dont agree with all this tech. i have t have some lame flat no graphical look on everything. and all the phones are starting to look the same. any how lol she has all these smiley faces and other icons she can txt. however when she txt them to me i dont get what she txted i get a black and white andoid loyd half head why is that?

If you haven't updated your DNA, that might be part of the issue. The stock messenger app may have been improved with the update.

If you don't like the new look, you could consider installing an alternative launcher like Nova or Apex.

i just dont like how with all the lastest hi-def screens and stuff they are taking away all the cool hilights and colors htc had. now her phone looks like my kids samsung and i hate that interface. thanks for the info

You need Kit Kat to see the emojis. That's why it shows up as an empty/black box.
