SMS not sending?

I keep trying to send SMS messages w/ my new incredible and keep getting a failure to send notification with the following notice

"SMS Errors
Cause Code : 1
Errors Class : 3"

Oddly enough I just got the phone today and I sent a few txts early on that went fine, but now it's not working at all. I had downloaded Handscent and I'm worried that's what's caused the problem, so I uninstalled it but now it is doing it with the default messaging app too. Any suggestions?

Have you power-cycled your phone? (Turned it off, then back on?)

If so, and still have the trouble, dial *228, option 1. See if that helps.
