I could get 12-18 hours out of this phone, that was fine with me but now i can barely get 8 hours out of it. Thats with hardly using it at all. The radio is down and so is the screen, android system is way up though killing about 70% of the battery. Beautiful widget is set at 4 hours, twitter 4 hours and facebook 4 hours. When i look at whats running in the app manager though its always Facebook, whatsapp, gsa, syncmlsvc, backup assistant plus, 2x android system, com.samsung.inputenetapp, allshare play, mapservciesamsung, maps, media hub, email and voicemail. The only app i use out of all of these is facebook and whatsapp. Ive disabled backup assistant but it always shows that its running. After the update it just ruined my battery!

To totally disable backup assistant, you have to login to your vierzon account on their page and disabble it on their side as well. Otherwise it will continue to rain and drain your battery.

I've only disabled back up assistant through the app manager. Never ran ever since, or it never even started running on my phone in the first place.

Screen shot of usage would help also.

I've always read that to truly disable backup assistant, you have to skip it when activating your phone. In other words, do a factory reset and skip it while setting your phone up. VZW tried their best to lock everyone into using it. Gmail backs up contacts...

But wouldnt i lose everything? Including my 200+ apps, pictures, music etc.? I deleted my hotmail from the email app and have now stopped the sync for gmail.

You will have to re-download your apps, your photos + music can be backed up on your computer or the exSD card.

You can also back up all of your apps without( data) and without rooting. You can back up all your apps with astro with its built in apps manager. Then move the backup from storage 1 to storage 2. Just reinstall astro after factory reset move the backup file back to storage 1 from storage 2. Open app manager in astro check mark all in backup and Viola.
This is if you don't want to root.

The problem is i doubt its the back up assistant, If you see in the pictures i posted above it doesnt say its wasting battery. Before i went in and disabled it it would come up on gsam and say 2% or something like that, unless its using a different name?

Could this be the gsiff_daemon issue? If you go into settings -> developer options and select "show CPU processes", do you see gsiff_daemon at the top of the list?
I've had this happen 3 times in the last 6 weeks. For some people a reboot works - I've been completely shutting down and then booting back up.
The main symptom is very quick battery discharge, and Android System showing as the main use of battery.

Yes gsiff is the first thing when I opened cpu. Wake locks are the syncs right? I have my weather Facebook and Twitter at sync every 4 to 8 hours. Instagram I couldn't do though

Could all of the wakelocks be causing the battery drain? I want to try and do something with the phone to get it back to where it used to be or do a factory reset as a last attempt.

If you see gsiff_daemon at the top of the CPU list - definitely shut down and then boot back up. That process shouldn't be the top cpu usage unless it's spinning out of control.
