I would like to merge a voice mp3 file with the "beeps" alarm tone so I hear the beeps then the female voice saying "you have a text message". The reason is in a noisy environment I often miss the voice alone. The beeps are.more audible in the noise.

I tried various freeware on my computer and thought I had the files.merged. they sound fine on the computer where the merge was done. In the phone I only get the beeps. In another computer I get beeps.sub voice in slow.motion. I wondered if there is a phone app to do it? Both files.are mp3

Take both mp3 files on your computer put them in a free program called audacity. Export as mp3 drag and drop on SD card and then set as ring tone

I tried that. Apparently the bit rate is different in each mp3 because when merged either the beeps are comically fast or the voice is sloooooooooow.

I see the problem....the voice is stereo but the beeps are mono. The phone played the mono track then froze on the stereo track. I made the whole thing mono and that solved the problem. I thought I was using audacity but I had a different sound editor on my Windows 7 computer. I installed audacity beta and it revealed the problem. Thanks.

I still would love a phone sound editor app if one exists.

copy em over then merge em with a pc sound editor an then create a file called ringtones on the sd card copy em to that file and wallah mp3tone.

I see ringtone makers in the market but no sound editors. You would think there would be one.

Try and use dbpoweramp to convert from mono to stereo 44khz 44100..I have ran into this problem once before.

Thanks, I have it working now. The key was I didn't KNOW that the "beeps" tb alarm sound (the loudest imo) was mono and the voice alert was stereo.

Now what we need is an app developer to get to work on a sound editor for Android phones!
