Default email address

I have two gmail addresses. On my past Droid phones I would enter the one I want as default first, link it with Gmail app, Market and Contacts and get set up. Then I would enter my secondary (business) email account and use it with generic email app. With the thunderbolt I go through the same procedure and everytime the second email address gets assigned, it becomes the default account? How do I change this?
