Verizon 4g air card vs tether from phone

I'm wondering what's faster a 4g wifi device from Verizon or tethering from my phone? I have a gs3

I cant say for sure, but I seem to remember hearing an air card would be faster/more reliable than tethering.

They essentially are the same. But your phone will keep using data at the same time, mifi will give you faster speed...it's main job, to only connect to the data.
