Droid Bionic to Note 4 with UDP

My current phone is the Droid Bionic with UDP. I plan on buying a Galaxy Note 4 at full price (dev edition) and I guess it comes with a SIM card pre-installed.

I've read everywhere that I should ignore the pre-installed SIM and use my old SIM otherwise I will lose my UDP. My old SIM is a mini and the Note 4 takes a micro. I know I could cut down my old SIM card to be a micro, but are there any repercussions to doing this? I've read weird things happening like 4G stops working. I also know the Note 4 is an NFC-enabled device and my old SIM isn't NFC enabled.

In the end, I just want to keep my UDP with as little headache as possible. Any additional information is appreciated because I feel like I'm running in circles.
