Just wanted to share what a rep at my local VZW store told me today.
I've been having less-than-ideal call quality (at my house) compared with my previous phones and went in to talk about it. The rep said they had recently received an email bulletin advising that some VZW areas still can't handle Advanced Calling, including where I live near Portland ME, and that customers in those areas should turn the feature off. I told him I had tried toggling HD calling on and off in my Settings menu and it didn't make a difference. He said you have to turn it off on both the phone and on the network side. Unfortunately that means WiFi calling doesn't work either, which in my case doesn't matter because he hooked me up with a free Samsung Network Extender. I happened to walk into the store on a day they were running some kind of special.
