I also jumped on the opportunity to get the international version after hearing rumors of US version getting delayed. I wanted to use this on my upcoming trip because of the capabilities. Amazon has it for anywhere between $420 and $500

Ok so after a few days of tinkering, I think this is pretty awesome. I was going to primarily shoot my vacation with my 3D camcorder like in previous trips, but i think this will be less nauseating. the trick is to always face it forward (or the direction one may be going if moving) and NOT force it torwards the action that may go from side to side, reason being you DONT HAVE TO. this is what limited camcorders of the past, always panning to keep up with the action (and replaying it in 3D made viewers want to barf). watching 360 footage is easier on the viewer because they can choose to pan in any direction at their leisure.

Storage Space - I popped in two different 128 gb cards and got two different readings of it's capacity :- ? lol
1st card is an SP elite 128 GB that read it can take 9532 pictures or 9 hours, 27 minutes of video
2nd card is a Netac 128 GB that read it can take 9507 pictures or 9 hours, 25 minutes of video
not a big difference but im interested in why it's different. of course this is the footage capacity at highest quality recordings for all settings. i was surprised at the 9 hour capacity recording at highest quality.

UPLOADING - takes forever to transmit footage to phone wirelessly. not sure if it can be done directly with cable. but it can be done also to computer. from the phone app, it allows you to "share" with popular programs. i uploaded it to facebook without any problems except it taking 10 minutes for about 1 minute of recording. immediately people wanted to know what kind of camera this is and where they can get one! i also uploaded to youtube which was much faster, about half the transfer time as facebook. youtube is great in that you can switch between quality when watching. full panning controls automatically are enabled.

here's my sample upload. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYCzbm9wE1U

Will upload more footage as it comes

I feel your pain on the uploading, can you explain how you are uploading to youtube, is this via the PC?

Also have you been able to figure out what the remote control option is? I've not been able to connect a Bluetooth shutter to the camera which is quite annoying!

Have you tried the Street View app yet, i think that might be the way forward for taking a group of holiday photos since it can automatically take photos every few seconds. I wish the camera had this function built it to avoid draining both a phone and a camera.

Any word on why and how long the US release is delayed for? I'm going on a cruise in November and was hoping to have it for then.

i haven't connected it directly to PC yet as i really havent found a need to. To upload to YouTube, I save the video to my galaxy s7, then "share" to my YouTube account from the gear 360 app. From what I know or have used so far, the remote feature is the app on my phone. I hit the gear 360 icon in the bottom right corner of the app, then I can see in real time what the camera is picking up. Then I can take a picture or video by pressing the appropriate buttons. It also does timer/time lapse/looping recording from the app.

As for every few seconds, you might be thinking of "burst" shooting, but that's essentially what the time lapse function does. you can set the time interval anywhere from 0.5 seconds to 60 seconds.

from what i've heard about the delay (and of course this is all hearsay), something went down with their manufacturing, either their shop burnt down, or people went on strike, or a manufacture of a part stopped producing, or something similar. it's to the point where there is no release date anymore for the US. not even a prediction of a release date. it sounded so bad to me so that's why i jumped on getting the international version. there's no telling when it would come and i needed it now as i'm going on vacation tomorrow!

Shanghai Disney 360 vids!

These are just short clips. Let me know if they work/don't work.

Disney hotel (lumiere's kitchen, stairs, lobby)

These need to be viewed with either the latest Web browser on computer or mobile YouTube app, otherwise it will just look like a moving panoramic.

FYI I tried looking for spare batteries or even a gear 360 seller (thought I would get lucky at a 6 story electronics mall)but nobody here in Asia is anticipating the release of the 360 anytime soon. One Samsung store mentioned October as the expected release.
