Ok google keyword doesn't activate search

For some reason saying Ok Google doesn't activate search except once and awhile, I dunno if I gotta be in search app or any screen. Doesn't tend to work in either.

Hmm, I'm not familiar with the phone but for most phones it only works on a homescreen with a Google search bar on it that has active listening. Two of mine have the search bar but I still need to tap the mic to make it work

Yeah it's hit or miss on google search app, and never on home screen with google search bar

Figure out where the mic port is on your phone.
Talk directly into it.
Make sure it's not filled with lint or covered by a case.

Hi there! I think I may have found a fix to your problem.
As it turns out, the "Google" hotword is only available if you have English (US) set as your preferred language in Google Now.
1. Click on "options" (three dotted button) at the end of the Google Now screen
2. Go to "Voice"
3. Go to "Language"
4. Click on "English..." and select "English (US)"
Go back to the Google Now screen and you should be able to see the 'Search, or say "Google"' text in the search box.
I had the same issue and I figured this could work, seeing as to how a lot of such features are region/language specific.

That is already set, made sure of that, might be hardware
