setup androids homescreen to be simple & get buttery smoothness like ios?

if i buy an android device dual core with android 4.1.2+ and have icons ONLY on my homescreen (like the iphone ios6/7) with NO widgets or Live wallpapers,will that result in on par smoothness as ios phones? can someone try this i haven't gotten the phone yet. thanks

It really depends on the device. Not using widgets or live wallpapers might make the homescreen function a little more smoothly, but it won't matter if the device isn't that powerful, or if it has an overly busy custom UI. Certain 3rd party launchers like Nova can make things run a little better.
