Nexus 5 turning on and off

[AC Question]

Randomly today my Nexus 5 has been turning on and off. I didn't have any problems with it up until now. I also haven't downloaded anything new onto my phone in the last 2 weeks. I have looked at other similar problems that were had and tried all of the options suggested. I try holding the on/off button and the volume but it only turns on then turns back off. It doesn't stay on even long enough to do a factory reset. Any help would be appreciated!

Can you clarify?

Are you saying that it turns itself on at random times and then soon after turns itself back off? If so, how much time elapses between on and off?

Do you have a case on the phone? Could it be impinging on the power button?
