Can old sim be used directly on newly brought phone with T-mobile $30plan reserved

I just brought a unlocked phone from eBay. Can I just pop my old sim card and push it directly into my new device. I'm currently on prepaid T-mobile $30 plan. Thanks!!

It should be -- You just may have to call T-Mobile to give them the old SIM number to ensure it connects.
