There are many smart phones, from different manufacturers, that have the term N8000 or n8000 in their names. What does that term reference?

Welcome to Android Central! It's probably just a model number. Since many of those devices are straight-from-China off-brand devices, they're probably trying to confuse you into thinking it's a Samsung Note 10.1 (whose model number is N8000), or some kind of legitimate clone. Don't fall for it.
