How can I reboot my Android if my phone won't allow me to?

Android stuck at "Dead android with red triangle" Cannot shutdown either

Hi, I just got my android yesterday so no it wasn't rooted or anything, I didn't install anything that involves with rooting. When I shut my android down yesterday so it wouldn't use the batteries and turned it on tomorrow (today) it shows me a dead android with a red triangle, I pressed the wrong button instead of reboot system and now I can't change my option and it wouldn't let me reboot after holding my power button for 10 seconds

Help!

Welcome to Android Central! Which device is it? When did you press the wrong button--when you saw the dead Android with the red triangle? Do you remember what the wrong button said? What screen is it on right now?

You can usually force a power off by pressing and holding the Power button for a long time. You might have to hold it for longer than 10 seconds--maybe 15 or 20.
