Why won't my Samsung Galaxy S3 turn on?

HELP my samsung galaxy s3 wont turn on

a few hours ago my samsung galaxy s3 turned itself off . when i tried to turn it back on again it wouldnt go past the samsung galaxy s3 logo. Then i turned it off and when i tried to turn it on again the samsung logo was faded and had changed from white to a lot of various colours. now when i turn it on all thats coming up is a load of colourful pixel dots. anyone know what is wrong with it ?

Welcome to Android Central! That doesn't sound good. It sounds like a pretty major hardware failure, probably of the motherboard. Does anything happen if you pull the battery, wait 10 seconds, then put it back in and power on again? If not, then you'd probably have to contact a Samsung service center. Any repair of the phone might cost as much as a new phone, though.
