Why can't music players find my music on my Droid Turbo?

I've tried Google Play music, Poweramp, and Rocket Player and none of them can find the music I transferred from my computer to my phone. I've tried deleting the data on all of them and have restarted my phone multiple times and nothing seems to work.

Welcome to Android Central! What directory did you copy the music to? Make sure there isn't a file called ".nomedia" there, which would instruct the system to ignore that directory when looking for media.

Can you find the music files using a file manager app?
