Why is my galaxy s6 inserting text at the start of a new message?

[AC Question]

Whenever I begin to compose a new message a word (usually the last word I typed in my last message) will appear at the start of every new message I try to compose.

for example:
if i sent this text most recently
"Hi Jon, the new fridge has arrived. "

Then when i try to compose a new message
"arrived." will already be in the text box.

so as I start typing it will say for example "arrived.Ok Jon thanks for letting me know."

Is this a common issue? and if so does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Tom, are you using the stock keyboard that came with the phone or are you using a 3rd party one? it sounds like some sort of prediction option. I haven't noticed this on my stock keyboard.

I believe I am using the stock keyboard, I have not downloaded any additional ones.

Hi - and welcome to AC try downloading a 3rd party keyboard such as Google Keyboard and see if the issue resolves itself.

3rd party keyboard seemed to do the trick, not sure what was causing the stock keyboard to do this.
