Is there a way to set a droid to that if it is on vibrate mode, the audible alerts from a contact still sound? For example, if I'm in a meeting, I'd like to silence my phone, but if my daughter emails me, I'd like to hear an alert for that email. Is this possible? Thanks!

Volume key - Priority star - Priority Interruptions only - Calls from Anyone - Starred contacts only, set notifications and times as desired.
It means setting only Starred contacts to match those you want to interrupt though.

There may be another way through an app.

Thanks! Does "messages" include email or just text?
Also, what version of Droid is this for? I'm using 4.4 on a Kyocera Brigadier and I can't seem to find those settings. Thanks.

Those features are new to devices with the Lollipop / Android 5.0+ update. Mine is a Moto G.

When you said Droid I assume you meant a US Motorola Droid, which would have Lollipop by now I guess.

Neat looking device and spec, the Brigadier. I downloaded the Verizon manual but can't see Notification specifics.
I no longer have my Samsung Note 3 which had 4.4 so cannot check how the settings used to work.

Someone else should have the info, though it may be best to start another thread here or with General Help and How To in the Android Central Community section.

Can an admin please move this thread? I would like to preserve the screenshots that were included. Thank you.
A Moderator may move it to another forum. You can share this thread link or copy the url, though if its moved there will be another one.
Some forum apps can save images, or give me a holler and I can pm them to you.

If you want more fine grained control over this, check out an app called Agent. It silences everything on my phone for only meetings where I am marked busy and I can select specific people to ring through, plus many more options. Android is a million times better with Agent
