I can't type after pressing the spacebar on the swipe keyboard. How do i fix this?

I have a Galaxy Tablet 3. After i press the space bar on the swipe keyboard, the key stays pressed and i cant type. I guess you can say it freezes but it goes away after randomly pressing random keys on the keyboard. I' ve restarted about 10 times already.

Welcome to Android Central! Do other keyboards work normally?

Try going to the App Manager, select the keyboard app, and Clear Cache. If that doesn't work, try wiping the system cache partition: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-16226

I've tried both of those options but nothing as has changed. And yes the Samsung keyboard works just fine, i only have a problem with the spacebar in the swipe keyboard

Is the Swype keyboard fully up to date? Was it preinstalled, or did you manually install it?

I'm pretty sure it's pre installed

And it's up to date? Sometimes, preinstalled apps won't prompt you when the first update is available--you have to search for it on Google Play Store. Once you've updated it, it will then prompt you for further updates in the future.

But its not something like an app. Its like a default keyboard

Any keyboard is still an app, even if it's preinstalled, and can potentially be updated.
