Why can't I clear a Sign In request from my Notifications on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4?

I have an irritating error sign on the top bar of my Galaxy Tab 4 at all times that I would really like cleared. It seems to be associated with Google Play services, but I cannot figure out where the error is... The icon is the Gallery icon, but when I click on it, the screen just goes black.
Just bought the tablet this week.... Not impressed that I can't figure it out, or seem to find any information.
Please help!
