Is it okay to calibrate a new battery?

I'm having problems with my phone charging and I've bought a new battery because I thought that that is the main problem. But as it turns out, even with a new battery, my phone still won't charge properly. And as I've researched through the internet, I've learnt about battery calibration, and I'm thinking that this maybe the solution to my problem in charging. But then I'm not sure if its safe to perform a calibration on a new battery. Can someone help me please? Thank you in advance.

So far as I know it's safe to do that, but I doubt that that is your problem. Rather, make sure that all your charging equipment is good, including the connector inside the phone's USB port, which may be dirty or damaged.
