My galaxy s3 shutting off by itself

[AC Question]

My galaxy s3 shut off after only using it for a few minutes no matter what percentage the battery is at. I then have to put it on the charger for it to turn on again.When first put on the charger after shutting off it always shows the battery empty until i push the power button. It will then show the actual percentage. I have to then push tbe power button once more for the phone to turn on. Does this sound like a software or hardware issue.

Sounds like it could be both ur battery could be bad to a point where the software cant adjust with battery degradation
