Running your phone on 100% screen brightness will make your phone run hot. Aftermarket batteries can also cause heat issues, to remove the battery check your manual (nearly all phone manuals can be found online via the manufacturers website nowadays). It would help if you state what kind of phone you are talking about in the body of your post ;-)
