Why are the pictures so small on my TV

Good Morning, I just recently purchased the Android for my TV. And it is all set up, but when I go to watch a tv series, like Hill Street Blues. The picture is very small and everyone looks like they are about 3ft tall and somewhat fat. Is ther anyway to make the picture the regular size on my TV. Thanks for you time and help. Aleah
