Can access phone, but not change pattern lock

Hi, I recently set up a pattern lock on my phone, but apparently forgot the pattern. I set up the backup pin, so after a number of failed attempts I can use that to access my phone, but when trying to change the pattern or type of lock it requires the pattern to be put in. Which I do not know. Is there a way I can bypass that to turn off or change the pattern? This is on a Galaxy S6. I am also currently on the road so I don't have access to my computer for a couple weeks, so if there is a way to do it just from my phone that would be ideal. Thank you.
