How can I make sure my text message I sent was actually received by another android phone user?

Sometimes my boyfriend doesn't receive my messages and I think he has a LG type of phone. Is there anything he or I can do to prevent that from happening?

Welcome to the forums. Several factors can affect this. Is the area he is in a weak cell area? Are you on the same carrier?

I am not sure if there are any text messaging apps that can do what you'd like, but there are other options like Hangouts where you can tell if the other person has read the message.
