Why is my Galaxy S7 only getting 3-4 hours out of a dull charge, even when not in use?

The last few days, I've notice that my battery life has been absolutely horrible, even when not being used. After checking the battery monitoring, it appears that the "Android System" is decimating my battery. The phone has been slow in its response and is very warm to the touch as well. There was a recent OS update that was performed. Is my problem stemming from the recent update? Can the "Android System" be faulty? HELP!!
