What's causing the ongoing problem with my sound.

I've had the same problems with mine! I turned the volume to vibrate to we if I could at least feel an incoming call but no, still nothing! I just turned it off and back on and noticed that I had the sound back. I love this phone but this is the third time in 2 years its done this to me! What's causing this and how can I fix it. I can hear videos and everything is fine when calling someone! Just no alarm, text sounds or incoming call sounds and I can't hear on the speaker phone function until I power off and back on. It's weird!
