Trying to root razr hd

I have a razr hd that got the newest update to android version 4.1.2 and i am trying to flash back to ics but every time i use the utility it fails to flash back. So i haven't resumed the process to root because of this. Doe anyone know a way around this? Using droid razr hd utility 1.10

Not currently possible to root in 4.1.2 on the Razr HD unless you had root prior to the update and protected it or if you have an unlocked bootloader.

There is a method that was just released to maintain the roll back ability if you haven't upgraded already.

you'll need the Motorola rsd lite utility and the SBF (also known as fastboot) files. I *think* they might get you back to Ics.
