I just bought a new Samsung Galaxy Ace from Europe with an OS 2.2.1 Froyo and it connects without problems to my home wi-fi. But when I try to connect it to the wi-fi at my office/work, the phone shows an excellent signal strength and connects immediately; however, I cannot access the internet through the browser at all, nor can I run any applications that require a connection via data or wi-fi.
I assume my office's wi-fi is proxy-enabled (without authentication)... I don't know what to do anymore, as I tried to install another browser (Opera Mini), hard reset.... nothing seems to work.
My colleague has the LG Optimus One P500h and it connects to our office's wi-fi without all the trouble that I have.
Also, my old Blackberry connects to my work wi-fi trouble-free.
Please help! I'm a noobie and this is my first Android device. I'm really clueless.
