I have a Samsung Galaxy Player that runs off Android 2.3.5 gingerbread.

When I put music on the player just by dragging music to the music folder the music plays fine no problems. I could not put all the music on the device though because the internal memory is lacking. I transferred the music on the device to my external 32gig micro sd card on the device via. my files. The music all transferred but suddenly any music I listen to gets "not supported file" error. When you go onto the computer none of the music appears on the micro sd card nor do the pics. which work fine on the device.

When I try to directly put the music into the external sd folder on the device, the device wont even recognize the music not even in the folder where I put it.

How do I put music onto the micro sd card and be able to listen to it?

Format the card while it is in the phone, and, it should be recognizable by both phone and PC. You should be able to do exactly what you are talking about.

Does the music player app have an option to scan for newly added files? You might have to instruct it to add folders to scan.
