I was attempting to update my Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch to the latest version of Android. I can't get any farther in the download wizard than 20% when it errors out. I have a screen that says: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
When I open Kies and select emergency firmware recovery, I get a dialog box that says the device will appear in a list, but my phone isn't listed. There is an option to use a recovery code, but I don't have a "previous PC," so I don't think this is something I can do.
I've seen some other threads dealing with this, but I'm going to need someone to really dumb it down for me. I'm not a programmer. Google and Facebook just about exhaust my computer skills. My phone doesn't work. I really need it to work. I either need to complete the Android operating system update or recover the existing OS.
