Can i scan phone front screen?

My phone front screen protector has some problem, the vendor told me to email him a photo to take a look. I only have my phone as a camera, I do not have any other camera. Can I scan (using a real scanner, canon AIO printer scanner function) the phone without harming the phone? I am not sure if scanner have any rays that will harm the phone.

Scan away, won't hurt a thing, might try taking a picture with the front camera in a mirror

I like the mirror idea. Scanner images often aren't great. The bright light that's needed to scan might also make any subtle details harder to see.
