My touch screen is unresponsive. How can I fix this?

My touch screen is unresponsive.

I dropped it in a puddle and quickly grabbed it and dried it off. Everything was working fine until now. My touch screen is unresponsive. All the buttons work perfectly and I've checked for water damage it is still white (when i opened my sim tray) Does anyone have any tips besides the rice idea? I cant turn my phone off so don't know if that will be as effective. Please help!

The digitizer (touch screen) itself could have gone bad when it got wet, the connector to the phone could have water in it, shorting it - it has to go to a shop for a diagnosis.

As for rice, that's for eating, not for putting phones in.
