How can I fix a battery display issue?

Battery display issues

My battery display has randomly glitched. It displayed my percentage at 96 all weekend, despite a lot of use, and all today has been at 100. I have done factory reset twice and still have the issue.

The only cause I can think of is last Thursday I was moving applications and deleting some files from the misc file section and might have unknowingly deleted something from the battery section of the os.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

First, try a Cache Partition wipe.
If no go, get back to us.

Never ever ever again touch the misc partition. Your problem might be related with you deleting files but could also be a sign of a faulty kernel. Have you been flashing something to the phone recently? It could also be a sign of a faulty custom ROM. Have you changed your OS recently?
