Why can't people hear me on calls (outgoing and incoming) unless they are on speaker phone?

why can person not hear me on outgoing and incoming calls unless my phone is on speaker

phone rings but person cannot hear me

It sounds like you have a hardware issue. You see about having your device repaired or replaced.
