Upgrading from 1.5 to 1.x

Hi...new guy here. How does one upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 or even later when available? Are you stuck forever with a verision of the OS on the phone forever or are there auto updates like other op systems/phones... Thanks!

What phone do you have?
The G1 on T-mobile should update OTA to 1.6
The Hero is still waiting for HTC to do some work before 1.6 is available, but once it is you should be able to upgrade
