When I'm using Google now to set appointments or send text messages, why won't Google Now recognize a "yes" response as confirmation that I'd like it to carry out the command? it keeps repeating the question or cancels the command...WTF? And, I still can't get it to carry out a command without first unlocking the phone. I have "personal results" activated, but still no luck. Grrr!

Try going into the Settings to retrain the voice model.
Why it confirms some and not all of what you say, I don't know, but give that a try.

It opens the application just fine with "ok Google," but:
Me: ok Google, set a reminder to turn off the sprinklers..
Google: do you want to set this reminder?
Me: yes
Google: do you want to set this reminder?
Me: yes

And so on and so on..It is not acknowledging my "yes" response and it's inconsistent but frequent. There's not much complexity in a "yes"response. I'm trying to avoid a factory reset, but "ok Google" has been very wonky since the 5.1 update to my Nexus.

Thanks for your input though! Much appreciated..

Hmm, that's odd. It works just fine on mine, and I'm also running 5.1. Are you running the latest version of the Google app?
