IS it a Virus? I suspect so, but do not know what it might be or how to handle it.

All apps start up, but stop running and close with an Application stopped running message. I have reset to factory settings and still have the same issue. Any idea what this is or how to fix it? Issue started yesterday. (HTC Desire 526 / Android 5.1)

Are you using an SD card? If so it may be causing trouble.

When you set the phone up again did you set it up as a new device or copy everything from a backup?

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen in Safe Mode? Power Up in Safe Mode - HTC Desire 526 | Verizon Wireless If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

Thanks, I was not aware that a phone had a safe mode. I'm a large network guy, mobile devices are a new area for me. I will look at what is installed and go from there. This is my teenagers phone so its no telling where he has been browsing.
