I'm relatively new to Android. I went from Feature Phone > Smart Phone (BlackBerry) and finally Android and will forever stay with Android phones. I just recently started playing around with the Android system, particularly the system apps by removing the bloatware carrier added ones (and removing the system apps and reinstalling them so I could install to SD card [e.g. Facebook]).

Now the question, do maintenance updates that include extra added apps, like the recent EVO update, re-add the removed apps, as well as updates that don't include extra apps? Also, for OS upgrades, do the removed apps get re-added once the upgrade is complete?

NEVER do an OTA update if you're rooted. Just wait for the rooted version of t to come out and flash it. When you flash it, yes you will get all those apps back
