I have been travelling for 5 weeks and had over 1000 photos on my phone (cloud back up not enabled!) and for some reason they have just disappeared, I have not deleted them and now cannot see them in the storage. I have been using a 32 gb microsd card as internal storage. I have searched the folders using ES file explorer and used android date recovery tools, but nothing has surfaced. The camera was having a couple of issues recently with permissions but when that happened i just rebooted the phone and the camera would work... nothing wrong with the pictures. All my whatapp images / insta etc are all still there, just the photos taken on the camera that were in the DCIM folder are gone. It's really strange, and also very frustrating. I'm clueless as to how to get these photos back, if I can?
I have cleared gallery app caches and data, I cannot use the sd card in my computer as its formatted as internal storage. Reformatting would just erase all the data...
Has anyone experienced anything similar and any suggestions?
Best,
H
