What am I missing here? Why is a full hd phone with snapdragon 800 $230? Is it because they fall apart within a year or something?

I've had my G2 since Nov 2013. It's in great condition and still feels like a new phone. Nothing has started to fall apart. Is it new, used, refurbished?

The G2 has been all but retired so not sure why you would baulk at the price. Heck trade in on a used one is $75 at most. You can still get a new one for $1 if you want to sign up for a 2 year extension via AT&T.

I've had my G2 since launch and it looks/feels like new.

I just recommended this phone to my mom and her husband because it was only $10.60 / month on T-Mobile. That really seems like a good deal if you don't need the "top of the line" specs. I just don't care for the way the back buttons are laid out on the G2...much prefer th G3's buttons. Minor gripe though. $200 something for this phone is still good IMO
