why is lg d858 g3 not showing software updates?

i bought the phone on 26th of august and i knew it should have given me software updates because when i bought it it was 4.2.2. when i checked for software updates it said that i was using the latest one which obviously is not true. what can i do to fix this. can i even fix this? i really want to update it to lollipop

thank you! is there not a way for it to happen on its own? and if i do it the way you suggested me will it delete everything stored on the phone memory?

It's hard to find any specific information about that phone variant, but the threads I did find had similar questions as yours--it seemed that people weren't getting anything OTA, and updates had to be done manually.

I'm afraid I can't tell you for sure if data gets wiped with that manual update method. Does anyone mention it in the thread?

There is a thread on the XDA forums about this.

There is an android file that you have to force stop, then reboot. . Then when it reboots, it will see it doesn't have the latest and will ask to download it
