Why does my LG G3 keep freezing and not turning off?

A

AC Question

It started a couple months ago, and now its become a nuisance. When the phone is at rest, it will sometimes freeze and become unresponsive. It usually happens at night when the phone hasn't been in use for a period of time (because I haven't experienced it freezing while in active use). Only once has the freeze happened while the screen was on, and it displayed the locking puzzle. The alert light still functions. So if I received an email before the freeze, the light will blink as if everything was functioning normally. The only way to resolve this issue is through pulling out the battery, because the screen no longer responds to touch and the power button does not turn the phone off.

Help?

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-30130

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.
